Mission statement: “Helping People to Know the Lord”.
Purpose: To promote, implement and deliver Christian Education programs to all ages under the auspices of St. Andrew’s Orillia Presbyterian Church.
The following groups fall under the Christian Education Ministry:
- Young Families
- Sunday School
- Adult Bible Study
- Library; Friendship Ministry
- PA Day Activities
- VBS - Vacation Bible School.
The Christian Education Committee meets every second Wednesday except July & August.
CHILDREN, YOUTH & FAMILY MINISTRIES
ADULT BIBLE STUDY: HOME TEAMS
Studying the bible in a small group, of 6-12 people, is a more intimate setting to develop a sense of community, build relationships, and to deepen our walk with God. Interested participants are asked to sign up at the Welcome Centre. For information regarding each group call the Church Office at 705-325-5183.
Currently the following three groups meet for Bible study during the year and then break for the summer:
- ‘Shirley’s Home Team’ meets every Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Study is from Book Of Revelation.
- ‘St. Andrew’s Bible Study Group’ meets in our Library on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
- ‘The Agape Home Bible Study Group’ meets every Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. and is continuing the study of Galatians. This group breaks for both summer and winter.
FRIENDSHIP
Friendship Ministries is a Christian Education program specifically designed to meet the spiritual needs of the cognitively impaired adults in our Church family. We meet the second Friday of every month from 6:30 to 8:00pm from September to June. We gather in the Coffee House where we worship, sing praises, study God’s word and enjoy each other’s company over light refreshments.
Persons interested in becoming part of this important ministry are asked to come out and join us at the Coffee House or contact the church office for further information.
SPECIAL NEEDS SERVICE
Enabling individuals with “special needs” to grow spiritually and gain insight about God and Jesus Christ, by utilizing their uniqueness in and through specially designed worship services.
Service is one hour with lots of music, held the 4th Sunday of every month at 1:30 p.m. at St Andrew’s Coffee House, located at 99 Peter St. North, in Orillia.
The service is under the leadership of Bob Hawkins. For more information call the Church Office at 705-325-5183.
 LIBRARY
The Library has found a new location on the main floor. It has been totally reorganized and is easy to access. Material has been added to the Adult nonfiction and fiction areas, as well as updating the Youth and Children’s reading materials. Most of the books have been catalogued and are available for circulation.
